My Space & Facebook

Love me
Hi,

Sorry I have been gone so long. School, work, the house and life is kicking my butt ...but in good ways.

Anywho, I closed my Facebook and My Space accounts today. A manager from my job, who is not on my firend's list, made a comment about my picture on Facebook, nothing negative just... "On your Facebook picture your hair is out but at work its always up, why?"

This made me nervous as I do not want to end up like others , sans employment, because of a comment I made or because I am associated with a group or persons my job may have a problem. I have worked HR... I know the law... and reality... the law is only the law when you have the money to to hire a lawyer to drag it through court to enforce it.

No one but you guys know about this account.

I know I sound paranoid but everyone is paranoid until something bad happens.

"Same-sex marriage rallies stretch across nation" is the lead article over at cnn.com.

I know I waited a long time to post about this, but I really didn't know what to say other than I am angry. You can't justify stupid and that is all hate is, ignorance (or love corrupted but that's for another day).

Okay Prop 8 (California)

Love me
What the fuck?

50+ percent voted yes? To prop 8?

Okay I am torn about that... Before you tar and feather me, listen to why I am torn. I believe in the vote. I believe that everyone should have the right to vote. Votes should be counted, every single one and the final outcome be law. There will always be two sides, those who voted for and those who voted against. One side will not be happy but should respect majority rule.

Now having said this... I really believe the majority is wrong. And where the fuck would I be right now if the Southern states, or the rest of the United States, had been allowed to vote on civil rights issue in the 1960s and 1970s???? I would be fucked is where I would be. This point is more important as results are coming to light that 60+ percent of Blacks in California voted for Prop 8.

Most cite the Bible. But I can cite in the Bible where slavery is okay. I am a born again Christian, I read the book. As a Christian, I live by Christ's example. LOVE. Give love, accept love, live in love and acceptance. Let love live. Love others as they love themselves.

When I have to answer for what I have done; I do not want to have to explain why I was so busy in the bedrooms of others that I misdirected energies that could have gone to really helping those who needed help. Think of all the people who could have been feed with the money wasted in the anti-Gay legislation.

I can not understand. I just don't.

When I hear that Gay marriage will undermind marriage; I have to ask what the hell has been underminding it for the last 60 years as the divorce rate is 50-70 percent depending on what state you live in. Including the marriages of born agains and members of other religions.

I don't give a flying fig nweton who marries who; as long as they are consenting adults. I love that Mormans have something to say about this matter, considering they are fighting with other Christian based religion regarding polygamy versus monogomy. So if you are Morman, especially more conservative Morman sects, the more wives you have the better treatment you get in heave but marry a man if you are a man you burn? Kind of shoot the Adam and Eve example in the foot, too, doesn't it?

Yet Mormans and Christians and Catholics and Muslims all put their violence inducing religious difference aside to HATE gays, while claiming the hate is coming from love for them.

WHAT!?!?!?

Sorry a little angry.

Day In The Life 11/9/2008

Love me
Hi All,

I have out of touch for a very long time. Life is off the hook and I have extremely busy so please forgive me ignoring birthdays or major events in your life. I love all ya'll tons but real life has been off the hook.

1. We have moved into the new house.
A. Damon has WAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY too much stuff. I had four boxes of comics, action figures and Barbies. Damon has an entire TRUCK load full. Thanks fully there is a major crawl space under the house large enough to ... crawl around in comforatably. All od Damon's and my geek stuff fits.
B. The house is almost twice as big as our old house. Maybe more. Not counting the crawl space and the nice family room in the basement, the new house is 1600 square feet. The old house including the basement was only 900 square feet. Our box spring and frame did not survive the move. The old living room set is in the family room and the dining room set looks like a Barbie house dining room set. In other words we need furninture and lots of it. Amazing how you live in one place and it is cramped; move into a new place and you have echoes.
C. Landscaping... grrr. We have a big front and back yard and it is a bit overgrown. Nothing that will get us fined but I don't want to look at three inch blades of grass and slightly unruly hedges. A friend's dad has a landscaping business. I am goint to have him clean and edge the lawn, remove the hedges, old tree stumps and trim the tree near the wires to get us started. Also he'll clear the grassy garden beds in the front we just noticed last night!!!
D. We need to paint the red trim white, paint the red shutters black and put out the solar lights by the driveway. Powerwash the patio and get a new fence and front door.

Someone told me owning a home was fun... they were right. I love this mess I have found myself in.

2. Work is no fun. It is open enrollment time and people are wigging out. Nuff said.

Love ya'll

Day In My Life 7/15/2008

Love me
Hi,

I had to call out sick today. My stomach decided it wanted to see what life was like outside my body and proceeded to crawl up my throat, emptying the contents within it as it went along. It returned to its rightful place around 1:30 after a 6th cup of Pepto finally stayed down!

Other than that life is wonderful, fabulous and damn near perfect.

Jason (godson and sidekick) is crawling and generally just getting into EVERYTHING. And I am loving it. I couldn't play with him today. Oddly enough he seemed to get that I wasn't feeling well. He crawled in to my room after escaping his Mommy and demanded I pull him into bed. As my illness came from eating bad Chinese I gave into his will. He took one good look at me, gave me a juicy kiss and proceeded to tell me his life story in baby-ese for a few hours. Amazing what a 7 month old has to say!

I want to call him Dr. Evil. He isn't a bad kid, no at all, but he is obsessed with our cat Creed and has this bouncy that spins with all these little activity stations that reminds me of Bond villians control panel or the Batcave computer desk! Maybe I can get away with calling him Batman.

Actually the Hulk would be better. He growls. No shit he twists his face up and growls. I love it.

He now knows what no means. Saying no with a bit of bite in your voice and stops dead in his tracks and looks at you. Granted he looks like he wants to scream but he doesn't.

Can you tell I love the kid?

So life is good. Damon is well, Damon. Happy, shit talking Damon. And I wouldn't have him any other way!

Love me
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL YOU MAY BABIES OUT THERE!!!

Life is going good. The longer I am away from the Sun the better I feel about life. After working with a bunch of people who either dismissed me or thought of me as the "nappy headed black girl in the corner" it feels weird to be appreciated and spoken to as if I am human.

ADP is the best place I have ever worked, bar none! The pay is great, the benefits are wonderful and the envirnoment is one of encouragment. In fact I have been promoted... sort of. I started out as a HRIS Analyst 1 and am now a Client Services Specialist 2 for Human Resourse Benefits/Employease. As far as I can tell I will handle most of the client's requests instead of just the basics.

Training is intense. Like being in college. That's good though I feel like I'll know what I am doing.

I actually feel safe enough to believe in the company mission without worrying I'll be bitched slapped in some manner for that later.

I am happy at work... SHIT never thought that would happen.

If any of you have either HR assistant, HRIS or call center experience, live in Portland, El Paso, Baltimore or Chicago please let me know, they are hiring big time.

Loves ya!

I am an extremely liberal, born-again Christian. Anyone who knows me, or has read this blog, knows that. Most of my views are extremely liberal. So NORMALLY I vote Democrat.

I was once one of Bill and Hillary Clinton's most devoted supporters. When she announced her run for the White House I was excited, made my mind up and didn't think about it again until New Years when I starting reading up on all the candidates. I immediately was torn between her and Obama. They seemed to have the same "stances" on most issues but he has this passion and is able to motivate people not just to ride the wave of success but to create it; make the country better from the individual up not government down.

However, I am torn no more, over the last three and a half months Hillary and Bill Clinton have pretty much lost my trust. I did a little digging and found some gems. I won't post link after link, but go over to digg.com and do a search or even youtube.com.

My main concern is the lies. She does it so effortlessly. Right now she is up against an opponent who appears to not want to split the party. Its mostly the media catching her. She says/claims the media is after her, being light on Obama, but she makes it too easy. Why lie about landing in Bosnia under snipper fire when you KNOW you wrote about a peaceful landing in your OWN BOOK, there were camera crews filming, with your daughter there you have now put her in the position of lying for you or busting you out and countless witnesses there to counter your story. Not only did she lie about that once, as Bill Clinton contents, but several times over several months at multiple events.

Isn't the problem we are having with George W. Bush is the lying issue? And here Hillary can't get through the primaries without lying about an easily verifible FACT!!!

Once I pieced together the above truth I got depressed. And the more I dugg the more I was stunned. Obama's drama seems to come from the actions of those around him; his minister, comments by his wife, etc. The obvious exception is the recent comment he made about guns and religion. Of course Hillary comes back with a comment saying we need a president that won't look down their nose at the people and implying Obama is elitist. HELLO? Look what I found:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/04/16/hillary-clinton-on-workin_n_97017.html

In January 1995, as the Clintons were licking their wounds from the 1994 congressional elections, a debate emerged at a retreat at Camp David. Should the administration make overtures to working class white southerners who had all but forsaken the Democratic Party? The then-first lady took a less than inclusive approach.

"Screw 'em," she told her husband. "You don't owe them a thing, Bill. They're doing nothing for you; you don't have to do anything for them."

Hel-fucking-lo!

For everything she or her people point out about Obama you find six or seven time in record and more than that in the form of second hand accounts that she has done or said worse!

My favorite thing to date is her claim that has all these years of public service, via Bill Clinton's time as governor and president and her role as first lady/advisor councel to him. Yet whenever someone brings up a law or idea that Bill championed but is not popular with the base, or sane people, like NAFTA or DOMA (The 1996 Federal Defense of Marriage Act) stating that the feds don't have to recognize state-legal gay marriages she says that she didn't agree with him.

How conviiiiinent?

And if Hillary Clinton manages to get enough delegates, and a think she will, to get the nomination do you think that John McCain's people won't rip her into little pieces just off her behavior during the primaries alone.

I can see the commericals now:

Hillary Clinton ranting about Bush being bad but they tick off all the pro-war legislation se approved.

Hillary Cliton's famous 3am commerical starts to play but then a scene of Bill Clinton excusing her lying about Bosnia as her having a senior moment and asking the audience to think how quick minded they will be at 60!

And on and on...

If the democrats lose this we are in so much trouble.
